The Story of Vick

I thank God for his wonderful love and the opportunity to Glorify Him. I have one brother and two sisters.  I grew up in a Christian Family and am so happy for that.  I knew that the only purpose for our lives is to serve God until Jesus comes.  I knew who Jesus was early in my life.  We had family devotionals every night and I learned a lot about Jesus but I did not live like Christ.  I always attended the kids fellowship, devotionals, and Sunday school because my parents were in the ministry.  Sometimes I disobeyed my parents and I didn’t listen to the devotionals because I was sleeping. When my Mother disciplined me I would get angry with her. I learned about salvation during our family devotions with my father.  He explained salvation to me.  My mother also shared with us about salvation.  I remembered what God says in Revelation 20:15, “If anyone’s name is not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”  I learned these verses during our family devotionals.  These verses always reminded me that I didn’t want to go to hell.  I memorized them in the Bilaan language and until now I still remember them.  I knew that my name was not written in that book.  That is why I surrendered my life to Jesus.  I confessed and repented of my sin.  I knew that Jesus Christ died on the cross to redeem and to forgive my sin.  I received Jesus as my personal Savior and was saved at the age of 12.

I felt joy because now I had the assurance of my salvation, my life in Christ.  Jesus gave me a new life and my life changed.  Jesus is my Savior and loves me.  I want to go with him to heaven.  I want to receive the crown that Jesus promised to the people who are faithful to serve Him.  I am interested in Christ because I wanted to serve Him.  Sometimes I would ask myself if it were possible that I could become like my Father? He lets Jesus use him.  I watched Him go to church to preach. I was encouraged with Him and I want Jesus to use me also.  I don’t understand why I am so happy but I feel joy down in my heart.

God used my grandmother to tell me about the Life Resources Foundation.  Then one of the Pastors, my Uncle, encouraged me as well.  In June 5, I came to the LRF.  God is so good.  I have learned a lot about God’s Word.  My faith has become strong because God leads me here and God is teaching me to do the best I can to glorify Him.  God has used my classmates, staff and my teachers to develop my spiritual life and to encourage me here at the school.
