Staff

Greetings to Family, Friends and Supporters of the LRF

Andreas and Angela

Andreas and Angela

Andreas and Angela Staigmiller joined the LRF staff in 2006 with Andreas serving as the Administrative Assistant. They come through the cooperative effort of the DMG in Germany. In 2009, Andreas was named the Director of the LRF. Their desire is to see the LRF students grow in their relationship with the Lord and thriving in ministry. It is not enough to have Bible knowledge in your head, you must have a love for The Author in your heart. Together they are active in discipling the students and Filipino staff, motivating and edifying them in their daily lives. Andreas has a vision of having more Filipino involvement in the daily operation of the LRF.

Terry and Cathy

Cathy and Terry

From the onset, the LRF was meant to be a training facility for developing Filipino Christians into cross cultural church planters. The desired “outcomes” were determined and the two year curriculum was designed to provide a foundation for life ministry. As Academic Dean,Terry Wedel is charged with coordinating the curriculum with the availability of missionary and Filipino pastors for the various teaching assignments. Joining Terry in ministry is his wife Cathy. With over 20 years of ministry in Cebuano, they are both very competent teachers with a passion for making disciples. Classes are taught in 10 week blocks with a work week in between. You’d expect there to be plenty of Bible training, but the LRF also includes classes on Spiritual Life, Biblical Interpretation, Preaching, Computer Literacy and English.

Students

Students

A training center would be nothing without its students. These young people come to get a Biblical education, they leave with a missionary vision. The Bible has never promised us physical safety, quite the contrary. Students go into the nearby communities every weekend. Some have been threatened and warned not to return. Despite the dangers, there are 40 alumni working among eight of the tribal groups on Mindanao. There are still five tribes to reach. These are not an easy people. In fact, they are very resistant. The Life Resources Foundation, as its name implies, seeks to give the students a foundation to build a lifetime of ministry.

Patsy and Scott of the LRF

Scott and Patsy

Scott Steele is the founder of The Life Resources Foundation. The Steeles arrived in the Philippines in 1985 and in the beginning were involved in church planting. Scott and his wife, Patsy, have seen God develop the LRF from a vague dream to a functioning discipleship center. The LRF is the only center where Filipino evangelicals have the opportunity to prepare for a cross-cultural ministry in their own country. The Steeles returned to America in 2009 but the LRF continues to appreciate the work they put into this place.
